The Will to Skill program is not a specific workforce development program for VG, nor is it designed to be a pipeline to employment to VG in any way. Instead, it’s a community investment program for local residents to gain nationally recognized certifications and credentials in fields that are in high demand.
The only eligibility requirements for this class are 1) be a current Cameron Parish resident, 2) be out of high school and 3) attend one of the 2 informational sessions on July 18.
The target class size is 10 and it’s provided at no cost for those that are selected. We will share additional details at the informational, but we’re planning to start the class around August 7. It will be from 8a – 4p on Monday – Friday for ~6 weeks at SOWELA’s campus.
