Notice is hereby given pursuant to LA R.S. ​ 18:51.1 that applications are currently being accepted to fill the office of CAMERON PARISH REGISTRAR OF VOTERS ​ The deadline to submit an application is July 31, 2025. ​ Applications should be submitted in person at the Parish Secretary’s Office, located at the Cameron Parish Police Jury West Annex, 148 Smith Circle, Cameron, LA 70631 between the hours of 8:00am-4:00pm Monday-Friday. ​ Applications can be accessed on the Cameron Parish Police Jury website www.cameronpj.org

A. Each applicant to fill the Office of Registrar of Voters shall be a registered voter. ​ If appointed to fill the Office of Registrar of Voters, the applicant shall become a resident and registered voter of the Parish in which he/she is to perform his/her duties prior to taking the oath of office. ​ The Registrar shall remain a resident and a qualified voter of the Parish in which he is to perform his duties. ​

B. The Registrar shall possess at least one of the following at the time of the appointment. ​ (1) A baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution and two years of full­time, professional work experience. ​ (2) An Associate’s Degree from an accredited Institution and four years of full­time, professional work experience. ​ (3) Seven years of full-time, professional work experience. (4) Five years of full-time employment in a Registrar’s Office in Louisiana. ​

For the purposes of this Subsection, “professional work experience” means experience in an occupation, which required specialized and theoretical knowledge usually acquired through college training or through work experience and other training, which provides comparable knowledge.
