The Restore Louisiana Homeowner Assistance Program will be in your area on Tuesday, September 13 and Wednesday, September 14 at the Lake Charles Civic Center to provide on-site support for homeowners who need assistance in completing the program survey and application.

The state is working with HUD to finalize and execute the grant agreement for the initial funding allocation of $600 million for Hurricanes Laura and Delta, establishing a line of credit for Louisiana. Additionally, the state is waiting on HUD’s approval of the amended action plan to spend an additional allocation of $450 million for Hurricanes Laura and Delta, bringing the total for these two storms to over $1 billion. With approval, the state will be able to execute the second grant agreement, allowing access to all recovery funding for Hurricanes Laura and Delta, along with Hurricane Ida the May 2021 Severe Storms.

In anticipation of accessing these federal funds, the program has continued to encourage affected homeowners who may potentially qualify for assistance to complete the Restore Louisiana Homeowner Assistance Program survey. The program has also begun inviting qualified homeowners to start their application as our goal is to swiftly move applicants through the process so that when the state has access to allocated funding, the program may immediately begin construction for rehabilitation and reconstruction projects for homeowners affected by Hurricanes Laura and Delta.

The program has reached out directly to homeowners, inviting them to come to the Civic Center to receive help to complete a survey or application, however we wanted to make you aware of our presence and purpose. The schedule is:
