Message from the Parish Administrator

Bonjour, Mes Chers Amis!

Please accept this welcome on behalf of the Cameron Parish Police Jury as well as myself, Ryan Bourriaque, Parish Administrator. Since my appointment as Administrator on January 7, 2014, I have had the pleasure to promote and support many different initiatives that will hopefully one day benefit Cameron Parish. Currently, Cameron Parish is faced with new challenges and horizons. The task of the Police Jurors, the Administrator, and our staff is to hone in on the goals and objectives necessary to make Cameron Parish a vital player in our region, State, and Nation. In doing so, there must be a level of creativity and marketing to take that next step. However, it is crucial for us to not forget the many accomplishments of the generations prior to us who called Cameron home. I believe that the merging of the traditional aspects of our Parish while not losing sight of the trailblazing of today will result in a vibrant, culturally stable Parish that we all call HOME once again.

Recent accomplishments have reassured us that progress is occurring in the Parish. We have witnessed the opening of the new Cameron Correctional Facility, the construction of a new fisheries facility, and the expansion projects of both Cameron LNG and Cheniere LNG. Soon, our historic Courthouse will undergo a major and long overdue rehabilitation process that will preserve the integrity of building as well as create a more efficient and more adequate functioning environment for the offices to be housed within the Courthouse. The Parish is in the process of finalizing the prioritization of hundreds of projects in the coastal restoration & protection arena. A Parish-wide Coastal Master Plan has been developed in Cameron through the efforts of landowners, drainage boards, fishermen, State & Federal agencies, and Parish staff. This document illustrates our issues and more importantly the science and common sense-driven solutions to solving these problems.

Please know that the Parish does not take this assignment lightly. I hope that we all can combine our efforts and make Cameron Parish into what we all desire- A place that provides our future generations’ job opportunities as well as encouraging them to not forget who sacrificed for them to get here.

In closing, please feel free to contact me with any concerns or suggestions. You may email me at rbourriaque@cameronpj.org or call 337-775-5718. My final promise to our residents and businesses is this: our staff will work diligently to improve our operations, our relationships, and our effectiveness to better serve you and Cameron.

Merci Bien,
Ryan
